leave the light on
My single favorite thing to look at is a building — a house or an apartment– dusted by crepuscular twilight, with the glow of lamplight emitting from a window. I would argue that this is not voyeuristic in nature, although half the pleasure is seeing the activity on the inside framed by the muffled luminescence of sunset. Were I to have one wish for the afterlife it would be that my consciousness becomes disembodied and be able to travel with the turn of the earth, experiencing only that type of light as I would peek into such places. As it is I already fantasize daily that I am the last person on earth and I have a skeleton key for each and every door that exists, and I spend my remaining lane years on earth going into every apartment, every house, and every vault that has been left uninhabited.

I forgot what I was going to comment. because some construction workers just saw me standing naked, aside from my cat, staring out my window because they are cutting slate on a roof and it sounded like a noise music jam session. none of this is particularly unusual except that NORMALLY i can clearly identify which is the MOST EMBARRASSING COMPONENT OF A STORY
