went to the armory show this weekend, and there was a much higher number of pieces rendered of neon this year. is neon suddenly easier and cheaper to produce for some reason? i’m really interested in this trend. When i was studying contemporary art at the new school, i was talking with my advisor about taking a neon workshop. while most of the people i spoke with derided the neon art as kitchy or sort of a last minute filler, i’m personally really drawn to it. simple minds, neon pleasures.
